Fortress Anchor chocks

Can someone share a picture of where their chocks are mounted? When I had the bow repaired and painted it looked to pretty to install the chocks but It's growing old storing the anchor in the cabin.

I'm assuming I can drill holes for self tapping screws and use 5200 and I don't need to pull down the liner to through bolt them. Is that correct?

Mine are the same but on the port side. Mine are rubber, and use a small rope tied thru a loop on the deck to restrain it.

No self tappers. You can get to them through the anchor locker. Use machine screws and back them up with a piece of plywood, or some thin aluminum. Do not, I repeat do not use 5200. For some reason you might regret that down the road if you need to remove them.

one hell of hours of labor to have no hinge screws or hinge show on the hatch, never mention it before a definite sign of being anal.i installed internal hinges and remove exposed screws then finished with teak on the back side of the hatch.

I'm surprised your suggesting through bolting. I think I have to take down the headliner but I will check first. It has to be bedded in something to prevent water intrusion, marine caulking?

You can caulk them just don't use 5200. I personally like life caulk products. They make silicone and polysulfide products. Much easier to break loose than 5200.

I have to look at mine this week end. I am pretty sure I can see them from the rope locker.

I dont know what a 5200 is, I would use sikaflex.
Its durable as hell, it has a remarkable bonding ability and can be cut with a razor knife anytime, the rest taken away with acetone.
The fwd one could even be through bolted, IF it falls over the rope compartment, but this you or Tony have to check as I have a 28.

Hmmm...I was going to PM directly, but what the hell, I guess I'm the odd man out - AKA- Lazy.

I went quick and ez with self tappers and silicon to seal
Been up there 23 years since I bought boat, doesn't make it right I know.
But figure where's it going, its budgied down and I have rode tied off.

I did however through bolt and use backing plates on the Tower...I'm not "that" lazy.

I just messed with my chocks this year. Very familiar.

Mine are all through mounted entirely in the anchor locker. No need to remove the head liner.

Good luck! Easy install. I used 4200 UV stable. Not as permanent as 5200.

I checked mine. The one for the shank is visable in the locker and is in with machine screws. The other two are under the headliner. As Dug said you can mount it so they are all in the anchor locker.
