1977 Bertram 28
Does anyone know the fuel capacity on the center and wing tanks for the '77 Bertram 28. Also, did they come with mercruiser or crusader. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Re: 1977 Bertram 28
They are supposed to be 155 gal, but I could never squeeze-in more than 140-145 in mine.
As for the wing tanks, those were after market so any guess is valid.
For the motors I have no idea, perhaps someone with gassers can answer this one.
Good luck.

OEM was Mercruiser----Personally I think Crusader is the better choice.

I looked at a 1980 28 flybridge with original motors. They were 228 Mercruiser Engines that are based on a GM 305 block/
Re: 1977 Bertram 28
My 79 came with the 228 Mercs based on the 305 block, and 155 gallon center tank. The wing tanks are probably added later on. Early versions had Mercs based on a Ford block. I repowered mine with 350's--the extra torque made a huge difference in performance.

Mine is 165, according to the tank tag. Usable is around 155. Original fiberglass tank.

Any problems with ethanol from your fiberglass tank?HyenaLuv wrote:Mine is 165, according to the tank tag. Usable is around 155. Original fiberglass tank.

No ethy in my tank. Diesel. I repowered before the curse of ethy came to Texas.
