That is not original.

If it is not metal then I would suspect some type of plastic, nylon or fiberglass material.

This page has a red fiberglass 90 degree angle it says it is used in electrical applications

yep i have seen it all my life. used as a insulator between electrical buss bars . also used as walls and supports in electrical switchgear.

Homemade plywood I beams with red fiberglass angle attached to mahogany cross member secured to plywood bulkhead with wood tang t-nuts.

Oops, I just re- "red" question (pun intended)...just the red, as mentioned by Tony and Bob, it's red fiberglass.

Looks like GP03 structural pultrusion. I have used this material in various shapes in several locations on my B25. McMaster-Carr:

I've used the McMaster Carr stuff quite a few times. It's great in the right application
