Introduction: New Poster

Post by Resinhead »

Hello all.

Stumbled across the site off a Craigslist ad.
Big fan of the 31. Spent some time as a deck rat on a 60' Hatt in the 80's in high school. Moved on to a 43' Rybo day boat and fished the BBC for 15 years.

Soon to be empty nester and looking at the 31.

Dream boat?
Diesels
Single controls
Genset/AC
Removable tower w/controls, gps/ff

Looking for a good bones boat that needs cosmetics.

Welcome

You will get a ton of advice here. You should go over on to the for sale section. A couple of classics are available a couple at a steal.

Good luck in your hunt.

Welcome aboard!

Good group of people here with a ton of knowledge for the asking, plus a whole lot more info you won't even remember asking for...LOL.

Charlie's boat is up for sale...sounds pretty close to what your looking for too, just consider the tower that is not there removed and ready to be build to your specs. I have been trying to figure a way to buy it for myself...but it now seems I'll have tuition for another 8 years as one daughter starts HS while the other starts college.

Good luck on your search,

Carl

Evening All. Sorry for the lack of participation since signing up. Been looking hard for my new girl. Think I found her.

1973 FBC with Cummings 6BTA's. She looks good and starting the due diligence. She's the "Zippity Do" in Fort Lauderdale. My buddy is going by on water tomorrow and I maybe heading South from Tallahassee on Friday night if she looks like the one.

Found a Broward County trailer manufacturer that will build a new 15k lb trailer for $6500. Is there an issue with keeping these girls on trailers for an extended time that I don't know about?

Getting excited...

Welcome and keep us posted on the search. Be sure to post pictures along the way.

Carl - apparently, my reading skills this morning weren't great... should have looked at the dates.

Carl - Charlie’s boat isn’t for sale anymore. I bought it last spring.

Yup, I heard! Great for both you and Charlie. You get a great boat and he knows it will be well looked after.

Funny, I posted that almost a year ago...how things change.

Resinhead, best of luck with your new girl!
