I'm putting a dock in and a boat lift.
We only have a limited amount of space (70 feet), so we want to utilize as much as possible by having the nose of the boat while on the lift end at our setback.
The builder would like to see pictures and measurements of a Bertram 31 on a lift.
I think he wants to know how far from the nose back to the first set of piles that will hold the lift and boat.
That way he can set the piles knowing that the nose will not go too far, or fall back too short.
Can any of you guys with lifts take pictures and measurements?
Thank you.
Steve

Re: Boat Lift measurements
Here's a little more thought on the matter. Hoping someone has installed a lift or has some engineering input.
It would make sense to me to put the fore and aft pilings in the same locations as the "sling" marks. Same spots you would lift the boat with a travel lift.
Any input? Opinions? I googled "bertram 31 on boat lift" and found a couple different looking designs.
This one looks like they are located where the slings would go.
