My friend and I are flying to Miami Friday 2/17 and flying home 2/20 to go to the show. We know next to nothing about Miami. The show is on some island, and it doesn't look like there are any hotels nearby. There's a brokerage show at the same time near the Fountainbleu hotel, so we got rooms there. Our plan, to the extent we have a plan, is to meet in Miami Friday night, eat/drink, go to the show Saturday and Sunday (eat/drink) to check out the latest fishing boats and gear (no interest in sail boats, cruisers, or megayachts), and fly out Monday morning.
Any advice on where we should stay? Anybody else going?

John, you already stated that you booked rooms at the Fountainbleu so I think you have that covered... If you want to go out in the evening, have a few drinks, maybe dinner and possibly do some "people watching" I would take a taxi (or Uber or Lyft - cheaper & faster) down to South Beach... It's close by but not close enough to walk...John F. wrote:Any advice on where we should stay?
