You are right Englishtown is about it. It is also known as Raceway Park. There is also a track down in New Egypt NJ but I am not sure if they run drag or it is a circular race.

On a recent trip to LA I was pretty excited to get a 2016 Charger RT from National, really looked forward to putting the foot in it. After 3 days and 150 miles in the LA area, I was able to get it up to 65 mph in short burst, spent most of the time at 20-30 mph on the highways.

Depressing to turn the car in. Poor RT stuck in that mess. The amusing part to me was the people in traffic with me doing 25 in their Lambos LOL. What a waste.

I grew up as a baby boomer , the first car I owned was a 1965 Mustang Convertible 6 cyl 4 speed, not a muscle car, but I saved my dollars for a 1968 Road Runner 426 Hemi Hurth 4 speed 411 rear end right off the show room floor in May of 1968 for $3,300., the Plymouth dealer took the Mustang in trade I ended up paying $1,700. for the Road runner. That car would do 135mph without batting an eyelash and I went thru 2 sets of Goodyear wide ovals before I finally smartened up. We had a group of 6 guys that hung out at the local Mc Donalds 15 cent Hamburgers, cigarettes were 25 cents a pack and gas was 30 cents for 93 octane Sunoco leaded. We all had heavy iron, A 1968 GTX 440, A 1968 GTO, A 1968 Chevy Super Sport 396 , A 1968 Olds 442 and a 1967 Vette 426. Back then the total cost of those 6 six cars was under $70,000. We cruised the local beaches in the summer and a few of us actually went to a concert in NY state while most of us we trying to avoid getting drafted before the winter months hit. Looking back on the past 50 years things were going well, we all had jobs, had wives, kids and Bertram 31's. What else could you ask for, now were getting older, the cars that we had are now worth a small fortune, our boats aren't worth as much as we would like and our friends are all passing away. But it was a good life and maybe a few more years are left to make the best of it.
