Hello All--
A Bertram runabout showed up on my dock in Elliott Bay, Seattle. It's a Bertram model I haven't seen before, about 18-20' and is immaculate[I . I haven't met the owner yet but will track him down soon. If someone can help me figure out how to insert some images I'll post them and perhaps one of the faithful can identify it.

Nevermind, I found the image posting instructions when I backed out of the posting page. I'll read through and post them although it might not be until I get back from a couple weeks in Desolation Sound.

Re: Unidentified Bertram small boat
If it was a Bertram 20 (there wasn't an 18 although a Hunt 18 is a very close relative) there were only a handful of models:
1. Moppie
2. Bahia Mar
3. Hardtop
4. Sportaman
The Hardtop and Sportsman had the fewest built, then Bahia and then Moppie.

Ian, if I have time tonight I'll get organized and post the pictures. It's a really sweet boat and presents as much more substantial than the modern 20 footers we see around.

Re: Unidentified Bertram small boat
Here is my restored 1968 Bertram 20 Bahia Mar.
Re: Unidentified Bertram small boat
Beautiful restoration, Ian; thanks for sharing. There is one more Bertram 20 model, the Baron, which has the look of a race boat.
Re: Unidentified Bertram small boat
What does it look like? If it is an open boat with an engine box at the stern it is a Moppie, which is the most usual made I think around 1,600 of those made, some as hard tops, no idea on the numbers, if it has a cuddy cabin it is a Bahia Mar, around 250 originals made, if it has a Centre Console with a stern drive and the seat near the back it is a Sportsman, apparently 99 made, if it has a covered aft deck and large covered bow area with a fairly raked windshield it is a Baron apparently 44 made. I am writing this from memory, so the numbers may not be that accurate, but I think that they are close. I have a Baron, they are really cool boats.

Amberjack, did you ever get photos of the mystery Bertram?
