Weekend at Bernies

Post by thuddddddd »

Made it down to Jp's mid day sat. Got to meet his buddy Rob, and see his RLDT in person. The windows he's putting in the back are awesome(even if the Bert chicken looks like a puffin) The pic's of his teak deck don't do it justice. All in all he's got a very nice looking project going. Motor install is top notch, cool electronics, well though out tower and helm area.

Capt Jr took all of us for a blast on his little 25 rocket with the new motors. All he's lacking is a tower and out riggers and I'd bet we'd find him out in the canyons slaying tuna. Not sure what the dog hair matt he had as covering boards was all about.

Got to paw over John's hound dog. Another nice job. Don't know who does what(owner or yard work on all these ), but those guys at Carvers have a huge fleet of Bert(all different sizes) projects going on .

Met the local duck carver as well. He's quite intresting, to say the least.

About the only 2 down sides to the trip were the 5 1/2 hour run home (left at 10:00 sun night) and the more than a little deadly, pain killer and beer/scotch cocktail. guess it takes more than 8 hrs for the oxyi's to get out of your system after a week of eating them like M&M's

Thanks again to Jp, Capt Jr, and Rob for a great day(oh yea, I suppose Neil also)

JP , your the bestest.
the RLDT really looks good. bout the only thing that would have made it better (given that Robs lack of class precluded a hatt) would have been if you'd have used a Pacemaker or Egg as the doaner hull

Looking forward to puking all over that lovely teak .

Yea, Beau would like his bowl back.

3 hr nap when I got to kathis moms then 8hrs of sleep. I was more beat than Bertram

Interim boat fro Timmy?

Post by Capt. Mike Holmes »

Timmy, I found a good boat for you while you are waiting on the Tubb to rebuild itself. It's an OLD Hatt in open sportfish mode, has engine boxes like a 31 Bert, so you could fanticize about a real boat, and Perkins diesels, so you wouldn't have to clean up so much slung oil. Needs to be cleaned up, and I think it has fuel problems, but looks like it could go for $10,000 or less. I can send a picture if you can't wait until you can get down here to see it.

Kevin, I'm just wore out right now. Lots of stuff goin on, and no time for fun(which insulting you guys is) I'll try harder, plus after RLDT how much more can be said?

Capt DQ Bertram is JP' girly , hair fallin out Mt Dog, that Beau the slab put a hurting on.

JP, whatever. At least while we're having tea and scones, it will be on the deck of a motor yacht thats large enough to entertain on, as opposed to a cockpit the size of what of most of our tenders have(though it is a lovely cockpit).

Beau, isn't that some kind of word for boyfriend, I think its spelled like that as well? Come to think after what your dog was doing to my dog makes the two of them beau's.
When you comin down next, you can fish on the "dinghy" with Rob and I while your "yacht" is getting finished up.
Bass are in the bay not long before we start pullin spoons.

Timmy & JP,

Maybe ya'll could get Hercules to come play with your dogs.
And, he's somewhere in the Boston area...

Image

"Now this is a big dog!!!!

Hercules was recently awarded the honourable distinction of Worlds
Biggest Dog by Guinness World Records. Hercules is an English Mastiff
And has a 38 inch neck and weighs 282 pounds.

With 'paws the size of softballs' (reports the Boston Herald), the
Three-year-old monster is far larger and heavier than his breed's
Standard 200lb. Limit. Hercules owner Mr. Flynn says that Hercules
Weight is natural and not induced by a bizarre diet:
'I fed him normal food and he just grew'.... And grew. And grew. And grew."

Dawg or Hawg?

Post by Capt. Mike Holmes »

Looks more like a hog, a big ol' hog.

Speaking of which, Capt. Patrick, I heard on the radio today there is a big biker rally scheduled for late Arpil in Llano, TX. Concerts by Molly Hatchet and others. You & Bruce gonna make it?

Mike,

That would be "Hawgs N Hills" April 27 - 29...

Doubtful that I'll have my scooter properly registered, inspected, and serviced by then. Last time I rode was with Bruce back in July of last year & been too busy with other things to get around to doing much with the Harley since then. Besides, without my Best Buddy & his Indian Chief around as company, I really haven't had that much interest in biker stuff.

Yeah, Randy, hard to pull the wool over your sharp eyes. But it made ya' look twice... GG

Actually, Hercules really does exist & reside in MA & weighs in at 284#, bumping the previous record holder, ( Kell ), out. The image though is bogus, but that's still one big dog...

Go search him out Timmy & get The Slab a new buddy!

Bert's pretty big compared to Timmys chocolate slab, he had Beau's head in his mouth most of the day (whole head not just the snout). I would guess Hercules could carry his whole dog, 284lbs wow!!!
What do those dogs live 6-8 years?

Good idea Jp. Might be a mitigating act for you. Went and saw my doc for a check up on the scrape. Problems. I xplained about the step off your boat and almost knocking the other off it's stands. He ran a few tests, med grade nerve damage from the impact. Sooooooooooo when you and Carvers get the letters from my lawyer it would behove you to not just throw them out( like what you did with the invite to corzines car rally) Doesn't appear that your going to be out much, problably settle for the RLDT. Local covservation group is looking for stuff to start a new artificial reef, and I can't think of anything better

Timmy,
I don't remember you being down here, ladder what ladder? We have always had an escalator your honor..........................
You didn't see the sign "Exit at your own risk, if you bring anything with a dogfish on it don't mind the push"

Found the dog bowl,,,,,,,,, bad news is the carver says you gotta come down and earn it back. Guess that means a full stay without any visits to the tiny room off the side.

Think he'll do our Garvey next year.

I want to know about Beau and Bert.
Was Beau bettered by Bert or was Bert bettered by Beau?
Beau wasn't Alpha , huh? Poor Beau. He's getting used to cats.
What Is Bert?
I'm not sure but indecision may or may not be my problem.
