Interior Project - Teak and Holly
Got the cabin painted. I'll paint the rest of the stuff (head wall, bench aft of head, seats by the dinette thing, side panels) in the garage this winter. I do want to get the floor down before the winter though. Got it dry fitted. Its teak and holly marine ply. Doug made the center hatches years ago. I made the 2 side pieces. They'll get a few coats of epoxy and then some satin spar varnish (which I think is really a poly).

Looks great. I see the starboard cabinet is out, or at least it looks like it. If it is out, are you going to move it back to give you more room.
How well do you think the Teak and Holly finish will hold up, with all the traffic it will probably get?

John,
Is this a 0,5 cm thick panel that incorporates teak and holly that you cut to your needed dimensions and (probably) glue on a marine plywood support?

Dug- Thanks
Tony- The interior looks/will look like this.

Everything it built, it just needs to be finished. The head is moved up on the starboard side and is smaller. Aft of that is a bench seat. That really lightens up the interior if you have a f'glassed in windshield. I did teak/holly in the Anna E. I figured I sand and put down a coat of spar varnish/poly every season. I think I had the Anna E. about 5 years like that, and never had to do anything. It held up really well--hoping for the same here.
Yannis- Its 3/4" marine ply with a teak/holly layer that pretty thin. It comes that way. No gluing.

Re: Interior Project - Teak and Holly
your doing a great job but a word to the wise you will need a border around floorboard to protect teak and holley edge because it will splinter after in and out a few times i use E-pai at 5/16" around all floorboards ,drawers ,cabinets to protect edge.there are a number of spellings for this wood from Amazon rain forest about as hard as steel and does not wear i use it for sill on entrance to cabin, head.
