Re-rigging Outriggers
The time has come to re-rig my double outriggers. Someone recommended black trimmer line. Any Faithful using that? If not, what would be a good source to get mono and what size.

LP mono is what I use and you can get it in different colors to complement your hull color.

Re: Re-rigging Outriggers
I have used neon green 400lb mono -- however, I used the Rupp offwhite cord this time.

Thanks guys!
Re: Re-rigging Outriggers
I like the idea of neon green, but mine are rigged with what looks like nylon line. Must be the Rupp stuff. Came installed that way, and they have not needed changing yet.
I love the outrigger locks too. They keep the baits from creeping back towards the boat!

Halocks are an expensive way to do it. You can do the same thing with a 3 dollar long line clip

Re: Re-rigging Outriggers
I'm not gonna argue with JP, all I know is that something to keep the lines from creeping is very helpful.
Halocks work great for me, and the price to stop it was insignificant in the picture of the whole damned boat. Just sayin'.
But again, and seriously, doesn't matter what the method, something to stop the creep is really useful.

I used chip clips and plastic clothes pins for years, worked for me, I got confused on how to release the ha locks things in the heat of the battle
