Finally! Beautiful weather!

Friday morning I woke up to see 1.5 degrees F on the thermometer. I realized quickly that tapping the digital thermometer won't check to see if it is wrong.

Today it is 65 and sunny! Life is good...

The boat is coming along after the crash with the log this past fall. The yard has re-assembled the running gear, and the only thing left will be the in water alignment. When it is all done, and the bills are settled, I will post the results etc. Pretty staggering when it is all done I think.

On another note, the yard had quoted me $5000 to replace the backing plate on the port side, unaffected by the crash. Dick, I remember you saying it was a sucker free week!

I pulled off the backing plate and removed the strut hardware in under an hour (yup, it was that bad) and ground down the glass to a clean surface back around christmas time. I went back a month or two ago, and found a big crack in the hull under the strut, that must have come from a previous owner, as I hadn't ever hit anything with that side! I ground out the crack a couple weeks ago, and hit our first burst of warm weather over this past weekend. Sunday I went wild with the glass and resin and installed a few layers of biaxial, with the 1" backing plate per Patrick's guidelines, and then 3 more layers of biaxial, and it really came out nice.

All I have to do is drill out the holes, fill with epoxy, re-drill bolt holes, paint, and install the hardware.

This weather is beautiful...

Supposed to hit 70 today!

And you guys are cheating, and you know it. Florida and San Diego don't count when you are talking warm weather. Any more than Louisiana or Texas.

You are ahead of the curve more than behind in my experience. For real.

A high of 72. In March. In NE. Nice day outside.

Probably an equal # of grosbeaks up here though...The cold keeps them inside at least for a few months a year...

wayne....lived in santa barbara for 5 years so im fimiliar with the concept... (also familiar with the backside of the channel islands...specially santa cruz)....remark was aimed more at the southern contingent who will be thanking god for air conditioning on august nights while im lookin for a flannel shirt

Here's a link if you guys don't have one. From time to time I compare this with some of the other pay weather services for offshore forecasts. More times than not if there is a discrepancy this is the one that's wrong.

The one I trust most is Bouyweather.com you put it the # and it prints it out with wave and current, sal of the water, sst, wind and its cheap.
