Vintage question

Please look at PDF "Important News for Boat Owners" found at EthanolRFA.org. One interesting point is that "general epoxy or polyester resin based materials used in the late1970's and earlier 1980's are not compatible with gasoline/ethanol blends." These tests apparently were done on underground tanks, but before the 1970's gas shortage, I know Bertram built a different boat with different fiberglass. It was heavier and perhaps a different formula.

Is it possible that older boats and newer boats may be less affected?

As to the older boats, my 1973 vintage tank had "Not For Methyl Fuels" typed on the label which I assume (not a chemist) was a reference to the previous addition of alcohols in Gas Crisis I. Alan.

I'm pretty sure all of the tanks have that label. I know my 86 33 FBC does.
