Finally!

It is not the end of ethanol, but hopefully the beginning of the end...

its the end, the market won't support it without the payola. Buy pork belly futures now and short them as the prices will go down fast.

Right, Prof?

The bad news is that it is attached to a bill that no one likes, so the likely hood of it making it through attached to it is not looking too good. I needs to be a stand alone bill if it is ever going to go anywhere.

Remember that ethanol was added when MTBE was banned by various districts around the country. It was an oxigenate designed to raise the octane.

Unless you take away the mandate to use ethanol and come up with another oxigenate rather than just the gov't subsidies, who do you think will make up that loss revenue to the corn people?

Do we pay the extra in taxes or do we pay it at the pump because either way you and I will pay.

How much do you think the 4 pak of pig tail flourescent light bulbs would be if the gov't subsidies went away? Certainly wouldn't be the 5 bucks they are now.

Get rid of the ethanol, then you'll have no use for the subsidies.

Price at the pump has gone up over 20 cents per gallon in Connecticut due to the tax credit expiration.
