Just when I thought diesel was the answer to our ethanol issues I met these guys. The rep had no clue as to the down side of ethanol. Cummins to date has no percentage rating for ethanol in over the road diesel engines. The 2010 engines in addition to Particulate Filters (we have them now on all 07 and newer) will also have a Urea injection down stream ala European engines from years ago.
Cummins has just recently allowed 20% biodiesel for use and it is scrubbing the old fuel tanks and clogging filters for the first few months.
The current marketing of the O2 Diesel is to transit agencies as part of an alternative fuel plan versus paying the high costs of going hybrid.
