Has anybody seen, heard of, have any experience with these engines? http://www.hyundaiseasallusa.com/S250_Engine.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've never heard of them, but looks like a compact engine package that may fit well in a B31. I'd be interested what others think of the CGI (Compacted Graphite Iron) block. Their add says it's stronger, stiffer, lighter and more quiet than a conventional cast iron block.

I have no actual data regarding their small marine engines but their truck engines (on which these engines are based) are well regarded... Also, Hyundai is a huge conglomerate, they have a finger in many pies... Ship (including main engine as well as auxiliary engine) building, transport (trucks and busses), automotive, construction equipment (earth movers etc)... Speaking personally, I'd much rather have a Korean diesel in my boat then a Chinese one... And, I do believe these Koreans are giving the Japanese (Komatsu, Yanmar etc) a run for their money...

Sound like a cummins so I don't know how much reduction in noise the block material subtracts from the combustion noise.

Comparison between makers with a db meter might add some credibility to noise reduction claims, but thats' just me.

Wish a fish eye lense wasn't used on some pics, distorts width perception.

Graphite has become the new super material not only in advanced electronics but also engine construction.

Are these the same people who "marinised" the 6.0 Ford diesel?

These are V6s.. is there enough room for a mechanic to get between the outboard sides of the engines and the hull of a B31? On my B33 with Cummins 6Bs I can barely fit in the space available.
