Paint & Bio-Diesel

Post by Capt. DQ »

For those of you that are gonna be using Bio-Diesel, here is something else to be cautious about. Got a friend that was using Bio-Diesel in his boat and the fuel overflows damage his paint job on his boat,
not the gelcoat but the paint that was put on and over a few months of Bio-Diesel use. I will have to find out which brand of paint he used on his boat.

So you might want to check into this if you have a new or existing painted boat, reguardless of brand or type. Just a thought to be considered because I didn't think Bio-Diesel would do that. Also think about your Truck or Car?

Capt. DQ,

I wouldn't care about the truck, I don't think anyone would notice on mine....but the BOAT! Try to find out what type paint this occurred with. I will be painting on my current project.

You do need to wash it off, but is not something that will happen instantly.
