Timmy,

Are those the new thin Shimano rods you are reffering to? I saw them at the NY Show at Sea Isle's booth. Sea Isle is just down the road from my marina. Ronnie showed me the spinner and the baitcasting rods. They are truely unbelievable. I think they were $130 for the baitcaster and $99 for the spinner. Both rods I believe are rated to 200lbs. My dad always tries to buy inexpensive equipment .....like closeout rods and reels. These were the first lightweight rods that he feels are worth the asking prices. Ronnie had a loop on the end of the lines and put the loop around his foot, on the floor, and I did all I could to lift him and the rod just would not give. Dad and I plan on buying 1 spinner each comes the springtime. Probably gonna load'm up with 50lb braid and end up with an outfit that will catch anything from fluke and seabass to dolphin and medium sized tuna.
