walter spent a few days in southampton hospital and is now in a rehab facility. i spent a bit of time with him today. he knows everyone cares and is thankful for your thoughts and prayers. while diminished a bit he certainly has plenty of fight left. hopefully he will back at home soon and back on the site.

Walter,
Keep fighting, we all miss and wish you a speedy recovery. I've been sitting around the house since Tuesday, had to have knee drained again on Tuesday, Dr. told me to stay off the leg and use crutches to get around for a week. I was supposed to do a survey for Bill Machovina on Monday in St Pete but had to pass it to another surveyor on the west coast. Really getting tired of not being able to do my job because of a bad implant. Walter keep fighting the demon.

Randall,
Let us know when Walter is back on line.
Until then, Walter, we miss your sage advice and great humor.
Bet the hospital food is not up to your standards.
This is the voice of experience.

just got off the phone with dinaz...walter's wife. he is still in rehab but she says he IS making progress and getting a bit stronger. this is good news.
unfortunately there is really no way to keep "bluebeard". i suggested a broker so it would be as little strain on them as possible. all suggestions welcome.

My mental image of Walter will always be one of him sitting in his Fighting Chair stoking his Big Ole Cigar......had several conversations with Walter as I sat on the transom of Bluebeard.
Randall......will you tell Walter his Alabama friend says Hi

Randall-
Only suggestion I'd make. Please make mention to Walter, when he is ready to spend time on a 31 again...all he need do is pick a point on a map along the shore and I am sure he will have an open invite on any one of our 31's or Bertrams in that area...
Hope I didn't overstep my boundaries...but I have a feeling it is okay to speak for most on this. I am out of commission this year, but would be thrilled to have him out on my 31 when I get back in. However, if he choose Staten Island today, I am sure I can open a spot on a friends boat for us. Sorry wouldn't be a Bertram, but it would be a day on the water.
