Says Austrialia on the brochure, would that be a Riva? Aussie only manufacture?

the boat on the cover looks like a classic 20' bahia mar.

I could not find any 18' Bertram/Riva"s, but found quite a few 26' Riva Sportfisherman that look very similar to the 26' Bertram. Many of these boats have been outfitted with teak decks and the works. Here's a nice looking one:

If you click on the pictures to enlarge them you can see the workmanship. Does anybody know if these were Bertram hulls?

Hull might be the same, but that is not the stateside Bahia Mar.

The Bahia here has a single pane of front glass in wind screen. This is split in the middle.

The deck is different on this one as well as the slope from bow to wind screen also has a vertical profile line that ours does not have.

There is a Hunt designed 18, which was built in Canada among other places. In Canada they were built by O'Day.

Those are Aussie boats. Not built in Miami that is for sure.

You guys are correct, the Australian manufacturer was licensed by Bertram Yacht to build certain boats of the Bertram pedigree. That company later became known as Carribean and sold quite a few 35s if I remember correctly. As Ian pointed out, the Hunt 18 built in Canada had a hull that was a dead ringer for a baby B-20. No doubt the first Bertram 18 I've ever seen, even if it is a Down Under version!

Todd I'd say the first step to recovery is admitting your problem but, of course, there is no cure.

I am looking hard for a hunt 14 or 16 in any condition at all. My daughter turns 12 this winter and we "need" a boat that we can put a 40 hp motor on.

Rod,
Jim Langley Marine and/or Hewitt Marine Services (both in Honey Harbour, ON), had access to 14's and 16's last spring.
A google search will get you either's contact info.
Good Hunting,
John.
