120 V & 12 V-Dc ?

Post by Keith Poe »

Guys I just started looking at my system and wanted your help in understanding how the systems are usually designed.

It looks like all the 12v is ran in to residential sub panels in 5 locations.

It looks like the 12 & 120 are linked togeather how do they usually isolate.

Thank you for your help Sparky Negletric

Keith,

The only thing that might link the 12 and the 120 together would be the ground on the boat. You can ground your 120 panel back to the negative terminal on the engine block or to the boats bonding system or common ground. That would be the only point they would link together.
