Top-tower fabrication

Hey Guys,

I will be fabricating my top-half tower and was wondering if any of you know the pipe schedule used in most of the smaller towers?

I know 2" sch 40 5000 series aluminum would be more than strong enough for the main supports, but it would be HEAVY. Is 2" sch 20 strong enough??

It needs to hold up (1) fat old guy (me) and the wife, or a buddy. Maybe a combination of sch 40 on the aft verticals and sch 20 everywhere else?

Is 1 1/2" enough?

thanks for your inputs.

Looking to fab something like the half-tower shown on this TOPAZ. Of course to scale for my 25. I also intend to use a cloth top on the front half of the roof to keep the weight down.
