15w-40. I've use Rotella, Valvoline Blue (which I believe Cummins recommends), and Castrol in my 6BTA's Anyone will be fine.

Rotella T6 synthetic 5w40 is what I run in my F250 diesel 6.0 that is notoriously hard on oil. It is really good stuff and you can buy it at Walmart. It comes in the blue bottle. @$21 per gallon. My truck takes 14.5 quarts so it is a 4 gallon oil change. I get used oil analysis done every change by Blackstone labs and I am getting 10,000 miles per oil change, but the analysis says I could stretch it even farther. Excellent oil.

Between the boat and the trucks, I buy Rotella by the drum......
