Freshwater and holding tank location for FBC

Have searched the forum but am coming up empty on ideal locations for placement of freshwater and holding tanks. I have located several that will fit in the space where the original 10 gal? tank is now. Ronco: http://www.tank-depot.com/browse.aspx?id=8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Any ideas?

Also Capt. P, if you get this, I am looking at your side induction boxes and have a question; will there be space for a genset outboard of either engine after installation of the box?

Fw tank usually under the salon floor. I ve done holding tanks in same location or outboard one of the engines.

Yes you can put a nex gen set and use the airboxes.

Not sure if they still make custom tanks, I had them make mine up. It goes outboard of the engine, or as Bruce said forward. Outboard you limited to about 10 to 12 gallons.

Bradley,

Here's three shots of Hancock's boat with final installation of 3.5KW gen set, holding tank, and air boxes...

The tank is polyethelyne covered with 1" Sound Down, primarily for heat protection, and came from Plastic-Mart. Part #MWT-B181RC, dimensions are 30"L x 18"W x 10 1/2"H.

Many thanks, gotta love this site, just ask a question and voila, the answers pour in. Got one more Capt. P.; in the boat above, where are the batteries?

Thanks again!

I'm jelous of those nice new fuel efficient 240 yanmars...

In addition to the std water tank under the cabin soul, i have an extra 15 gallons next to the fuel tank over where the port shaft exits, and a 15 gallon holding tank opposite over where the starboard shaft exits. Since i mostly cruise, having extra fresh water is important.

Giff,
First Iam glad you fared ok in the storm. How long crusing does the 15 gal tank hold up? I have a 9 I plan to install this winter, but some people say its way to small. So when you and the wife are crusing for 2 weeks do you have to pump out?

Thanks

Captain Frank-
Good hearing from you. We can go 3-4 days before pump out. This does not cause much issue for us. We stayed 5 days in nantuket prior to this years renevous, and got pumped out by the mobile pumpout once during the stay. I usually stayn in a place 2 days max and most of the time I have some sort of offshore transt, so i pumpout then. Bottom line, for the 2 of us, 15 gallon tank has been fine.
