Thanks guys.. The above is a pic when I first bought her almost 5 years ago.. I am now pretty much done with the exterior.. I will post a pic or two if anybody wants.. I don't want to clutter up the B31 forum after all!

Frank.. wait till you see her now.

Harry.. just a std B33 FBC.. she looks a lot different now.

Keith... Good thinking! I really would rather not have to see pics of you naked! LOL

Sim...

I only posted the pic above to test my newfound ability to post pics here in this forum. I am flattered anyone here wants to see more pics. That said, there is a lot of what I learned in this forum that went into my rebuild of "Phoenix", and I am happy to let everyone here see the results.

She is still in the building where I have been working on her for the past two years.. the exterior is finished, but there is still a lot of interior work to do... I have done some, but my main mission has been to get the exterior completed and then run her 15 miles to my home where she resides in my slip a couple of minutes walk from my front door. I also need to have her 5 year anniversary out of the water survey done for my insurance company.

Conditions in the building are not all that good for taking pictures.. poor light plus there is a 72' abortion of a boat about 6' off her port side that seems to be hung up in reposessions and lawsuits. I will post some pics here when I get her cleaned and all the tools and materials off. My present schedule is to have her home in 5-6 weeks.. then I will be able to take more pics.

Kidding of course, no worries and no need to give any reasons.
When you get around to it, I'm sure we will all love to see what you have done...you started with a great platform!

Harry...

Until the survey is in the hands of my insurance company I am on "Port risk" insurance, meaning she has to stay on the hard. The surveyor should do his thing on Monday.. then she can be launched. I can't wait. Been working one way or another on her for 4 years!

PS.. I had the Lee Sr outriggers rechromed.. will install them after she gets in my slip near my house.. they look like new.. thanks to the members here who encouraged me to rechrome the old ones rather than buy new Lee Juniors.. The cost was the same. Now I can use the original mounting holes and backup plates.

In the after pic you have the door open.

The door turned out great, Frank! Good luck with the launch!

If you have any leftover parts, pieces, or supplies, let me know. I'm scrounging around for materials to finish my opus, a.k.a. B25. I'll be in Wilmington Thanksgiving weekend.

Cam....

Give me a call before you come down here and maybe we can get together. We do Thanksgiving with my son-in-law's family here in Wilm, but other than that we are here over the holiday,

Bob H....

My engines (Cummins 6BTs, 330 HP) are 1997s, but have only 550 hrs on them.. so far they don't smoke at all. The side exhausts were a Bertram option from the factory.. quite a few B33s have them.. I considered eliminating them, but to do that meant I needed new mufflers, and I did not want to get involved in another project. I ascribe to the "If it works, don't fix it!" philosophy!
