Has anybody used the Palmer Cutless Shaft Savers that are listed in the building tips section listed under fiberglass shaft logs.

Ahhh, Doug,

Don't think you saw a mention of them on my site...

While I've never used them, they look to be a novel technology and may do what they're advertised to do. High dollar items for sure.

I priced 1 1/4 shaft X 1 3/4 at $152 for bronze and $274 for stainless each. I'd hope like hell they worked for $354 to $548 a pair. I wonder if anyone here has tried them?

Dick,

The price they gave me was for 1-3/8" shaft bronze 2-1/8" OD on the bearing but mine is 1 7/8" OD. Talking with them about it said that it should raise your rpm's a couple hundred and should last about 4x longer.

I've seen them advertised in Boats and Harbors for a few years.
