Cummins Injector Part #

Post by Marshall Mahoney »

I'm still troubleshooting black smoke, and pulled the injectors to have them tested. The injector shop said all of the injectors were bad (which I doubt) and replaced them, incorectly with rebuilt ones.

I have a 1993 mairine 300 hp 6bta5.9-M2. The rebuilt injector part numbers are a combination of 8965, 9956, 9302 -- all with 9MM tips. My engine takes 7MM tips. They do not have my original cores. I obviously do not trust the injector company now, so how do I specify the injectors for my engine to ensure I have the right ones? I can't get in touch with the local Cummins dealer, so I thought one of you may know.

Thanks

Marshall,

Call David Johnson with Johnson Diesel in Mississippi, he should be able to help you out.
