Peter how'd you find that? I remember catching them on Fire Island as a kid.

There is a local guide in Babylon al lorenzetti who has site where locals post fishing reports. www.skimmeroutdoors.com I found it posted there originally. It said it's from 1936. Likely Collins Ave in sayville was named after his family. I grew up in sayville and mentioned the video to Bob Lico but thought others may be interested.

I wonder if the shark footage was actually taken in the bay or shot in a tank at the aquarium. I wonder if the sayville historical society or maritime museum are aware of this video?

Great find. I had a boat on Browns River for a few summers as a kid. That was about twenty-five years after the video and the river had changed.

Harry. There are two good books by Havemeyer. That talk about hotels, bay beaches etc from Babylon to blue point. I saw a presentation a few years back at the local library really interesting stuff.
