Hey guys......Everything in South Alabama, down here on the coast is doing just fine......including me.....and I thank you for your concern and thanks for asking.

The storm went thru Dixie Tornado Alley.....up around Birmingham and Tuscaloosa then on to the Chattanooga area and off to Georgia.

I believe that there were just under 200 deaths reported in Alabama....very sad indeed.

I was in the shop yesterday and not near any news. Bob Higgins sent me a Text Message inquiring about our welbeing down here. At that time I was expecting bad weather but had no idea that North Alabama had been devastitated......I only realized the magnatude of the storms when I tuned on the 9:00 news.

My north Alabama friends all faired very well and a whole group of the utility workers from Fairhope shipped out this morning to help our north Alabama friends.

Its nice to have friends like you guys.......thanks for your concern

Tonights count just in the town of Tuscaloosa (home of Alabamas Crimson Tide)......209 Dead.....1765 seriously injured.....over 400 still missing

Total death toll so far for the State of Alabama 329

Don't know about the count for our neighboring states.

As comparison.....Hurricane Camille,1969 totally destroyed the entire Mississippi Coast and killed 236 people

Katrina who took a toll on the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida coast killed 1836 folks.

The intensity of the tornados this week is unbelievable. The Tuscaloosa tornado was about 3/4 of a mile wide and stayed on the ground for about 5 minutes and covered a path about 4 miles long

I stand corrected.....on the ground for 20 minutes and covering a 25 mile long path.
