That shark got no tail.
On the other hand if you've been watching the north carolina tuna fishing you'll see the killer whales have been eating the bluefins off the hook.

JP. I was thinking of starting a thread to ask the question. Is anyone fishing those 200-300lb blue fin off NC? Sounds like they're getting them on jigs as well as surface plugs.

Not my pic but they are catching them, there are some bigger critters that think the tuna's are bait. (you can see the bluefin in its jaws)

I doubt if the killer whale could have caught him without a little "fisherman assistance", LOL :!:

JP,
Thats news to me. I know the BF fishing is great, when you can get out. But have not heard of or ever seen a killer whales in NC or NY for that mater. Do you know if it was Oregon Inlet or Hatteras? Now I want to go even more than before.

I know canyon runner is running trips. If you check their website they do mention the marina they are fishing out of and the grounds they are fishing. They have mentioned the whales. Since their locations were not familiar to me I didn't retain the info.

Peter,
Ya they have 2 boats fishing out of Pirates Cove this year.
JP,
Ya I talked to a few people that said the whales were eating fish off the line. Only one guy said killer whales, But I have lost many fish to sharks and blue marlin but never a whale. I hope the fish hold and the weather gets better.
Thanks for the heads up.
