For those of us who dutifully watch the ships lock thru the canal on the live webcams, you will notice that last night they erected a large white tent over most of the observation deck outside the restaurant at the Miraflores locksb - the deck many of us know from the first TSL trip in 06. It will surely ruin the wet T shirt views we have enjoyed for years. Somebody needs to find out who did that and whip their ass.

Dug - try www.pancanal.com and go to the english, then the multimedia, then the cams....the tent & a little of the terrace is visible on the Miraflores hi def.
The Miraflores locks are at the Panama City end on the Pacific, the Gatun locks on the Carib. end...the expansion project cam is just inland from the Miraflores and the Centennial bridge cam just inland of that. Also take a look at the explanation of how they are doing the thrid set of locks to carry much bigger ships, and the clever way they plan to reclaim the water used by that lock...a three tier holding pond system that is silly simple.
