If that doesn't choke you up a little ..... you should go back to where you're from.

Bob,

Your sister and family are making big sacrifices so that my family can do fun stuff without worries.

Please be sure to let them know just how grateful many of us are for their service.

Sure as hell choked me up. We need more of that spirit on our media and less dumb reality shows and talking heads! That spirit of patriotism is what I grew up with...and it stays with you!

Too bad that liberal POS Michael Douglas introduced them.

If you give donations, make sure they go to legit organizations that support our returning soldiers. not only do the wounded ones need our help, but many are returning with mental issues.

Please thank him for his service! As a nation, we would be nothing without men like him.

I truly hope he can readjust to being back, maybe a little time and direction.

rawleigh my boat is on the hard and any fishing now is offshore wrecks for cod or ling. we don`t have a boat in the water as a matter of fact. he has to the most repectable young man i have ever known . he was in bomb squad ,finding and disasenbling landmines , roadside bombs sleepless nights--terrible human stories . i wish i could find him a job preferable in southern states.

Bob,

I am not in a position to help him find a job but i would be more then happy to help out with the cost of a plane ticket if one of our southern brothers would put him up for a few days and take him fishing. If a few of us can contribute $50 we can get him round trip flight.

Fortunately Disassembling Landmines is not a highly required resource here in the States...mostly due to young men like your nephew.

I understand our Military trains people for the tasks required to defend and protect our Country...but it would be nice if they could incorporate a
plan to educate them to re-enter society with a job, career...jobs such as what this young man did just don't translate to great careers when they get back. Aside from a Bomb Squad...maybe I'm wrong. I have service men come in for a job way too often. These are people that have zero skills in my field...they need more then a simple production job pays (even with me breaking even) they would still not be able to feed their families and keep a roof overhead. It's just wrong.

Bob,
Can you give me an idea as to what Daniel would like to do, what his qualifications are, where he would like to relocate. My resources are somewhat limited to the Tri-borough Area...but if he was a close match to someone I know...I'd give a call and ask if there was an opening. He may not get a job from my call, but at least it may be a leg up on the competition.

To follow on Sim's coat tails, I can help locally if we know what he is looking for, but down south will be a little bit of a stretch for me.

Please thank him and his family for their sacrifices, I'm very happy that this nation is finally recognizing these citizens for the special job they do for us 24/7/365! I do hope he gets some help IMMEDIATELY to re-adjust back to civilian life, please tell him not to wait until something bad happens, re-adjusting is not always easy.

My son did 2 tours in iraq and is still in the Army, 9 years and going strong. He is one of the lucky ones who wasn't profoundly affected by the war, I guess living his whole life in the military (I'm retired USAF) helped him in some way.

We'll be spending Christmas and New Year's with him and his family up in Aberdeen, MD, if some of the faithful are close please let me know to try and meet.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to all, and may all our warriors return home safe and sound very soon.
