Wow, one nice fish. I've seen 250 pounders but that is a monster and on a sardine. I guess elephants do eat peanuts.

He did it with a little 30 and $25 rod!!! I love it!
Its nice for him to have HIS day, I hope one day to have mine.

Plus it was only 2 hours and forty minutes! On a 30! And it's not like you can back down on those miserable pricks! Back, arms and drag.

I will bet the IGFA will be all over him, the mates, the witnesses and the tackle trying to find out if the mate ever touched the rod, did the rod ever touch the rail, the knots, leader, line etc. They'll have a hard time believing a fish like that was caught and landed from a big party boat on a 30 reel and no-name rod, standing up. I hope he gets the all-tackle Yellowfin record!

All tackle is 442# I think.
