Are all the B31 shafts the same length - 72 inches?

Thanks

I'm not a Bertram historian as some on the boards are, but as a general rule shaft length depends on the transmission / engine package.

The Borg Warner Velvet drives (71, 72 series) are approximately 9"-12" longer than one of the TwinDisc or ZF down angle gears, or even one of the newer series Borg Warners. Depending on engine location each variation could require a different length shaft. This would apply to re-powered boats mainly. But considering all the various engines that were offered in the 31 I would not think that they "were" all the same.

Nic,

It is safer to say they are all different. Different model 31s, engines, trannys, installations, hell, even the rudders are set different from boat to boat all leading you to measure, measure, measure...
