It's official, I'll be in for the boat show, but only for 1 day...
While I'll be in FL for 4 1/2 days, only one day, (date still to be decided), will be set aside for the show.
At least one day will be set aside for visiting Bruce and Shirley. 2 days will be used for viewing/consulting with B31 owners in the WPB area. At least 4 boat owners fit into this group: Marlin, Russ Swift, Craig Spencer, and Steve Marinak.
Thank you Marlin for supplying both air and ground transportation and possible lodging at your condo!
My cell number while in FL is (210) 748-9345

Patrick, I was hoping to have the boat here before the show. C&J transport will not be able to pick up the boat in Michigan until approximately Nov 2nd. After that I hope to have it in Lantana at the boat yard Marlin suggested. If you are in town toward the end of the show, I may luck out and be able to get some of your time.

Brother, you know you're the 1st face I want to see when arriving in WPB..
I'm flying in on Wednesday, Continental flight #CO2432 at 11:33AM.
Don't know how that jives with your work schedule, but if it conflicts I may take Steve up on his offer to pick me up.
Geeze... I don't know if I can fathom a fat Shirley; that's 5 pounds heavier than me. But then hey, Varnish Carol out weighed me by a bunch...
Left a message on your phone... Call me when you get a chance.

Patrick, I just got word we are not picking up in Michigan till Nov 4th. I would assume a few days drive. This probably puts us past your time in S. FL I would guess. If you stay in town for a little while I would like to get together. Thanks.

I'm regretfully out...
Fatherhood, and a paganistic holiday have got right in the way...
" but, I must rebuild a 31 Bertram " I said blankly to my wife & son as we were discussing the weekend. "what?" shot back the wife, " I must rebuild a 31 Bertram " I roboticly repeated " It's the best boat ever built"...
She then pointed to the B20 sitting outside and said "you're more than welcome to begin on that one".
sometimes.... they're right .

I'm in for friday. If Bimini Bay can't take us, I have a standard hangout spot "Blue Moon Fish Co" a little north on the ICW at Commercial. Please give a time for Bimini Bay and if they can't do it, let me know ... pretty sure we can get in to Blue Moon.

At teh Bertram booth, there's a really nifty keepsake Bertram hardcover brochure of the new line that includes 2 pages of a Bertram timeline with the year of introduction of each model (I didn't know the 25 & the 38 were introduced the same year, 1963), great info for us aficionados!
BTW, the 800 and 540 "windshield" models were awesome!

Went to the show on Friday .... the Bertram line up in the 50' range was serious.
The staff there has a great respect for the 31 !!
The book is nice, but that timeline in it has a mistake ... the "silver anniversary" 31s were in the 80s not the 70s.
BUT .... the weekend highlight was meeting Capt Patrick and Peter Fallon at Marlin's boat on Saturday morning. The knowledge of Patrick & Peter is second to none and the beauty of Marlin's boat just leaves me shaking my head. The boat is %$#@# awesome !!
Thanks guys

I think the part about the Miami-Nassau race also is a mistake, it says Dick broke the record by 4 minutes but I thought it was by 4 hours?
