Wed was the 32nd Fishing Derby for handicapped kids. The boat has been volunteering since it was new in 1979. Its great because we can usually take out around two or four wheelchairs because of the open rear end. Just a little vid of the first group we took out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9LgChFOeE

Very nice. Can't think of a better use of a B31, or any other boat for that matter.

My wife and I, and a few other Montauk captains take out a group of kids with Cancer for the Make-a Wish Foundation once a year. What a bunch of great (and tough) kids! We've had bad weather, rough seas and they still want to go! We come back from those trips with a far better appreciation of life and the goodness of people. We have unfortunately known the ugliness and pain of that terrible disease in our own house, but when you realize what these kids are going through, the ability to make them smile for a day is a reward that is beyond explanation. If ever asked, do it. You'll be glad you did!
