A friends son was on the boat that caught the big Blue. Jamie was the tower and gaff man.

We talked about you and your rough trip to the Montauk Rendezvous at Greenport. Bob Fiorese who helped fix your broken outrigger that day was asking if anyone heard from you. Walter

After a 2 day trip up--first leg to Charlie Haws' and next day to Montauk, Crow's Nest blew a gear oil-cooler on the way home. We happened, on a 330 or so mile trip, to blow that a few miles from Mattituck inlet--where my parents live. So, we put in. Broke an outrigger pole on the way up, and a fishfinder came out flying out of the electronics box an conked me on the head.

Crows Nest (and Doug of course), took me to a few more memorable B31 Rendezous in AC. They've all been great, and I have alot of great memories because of the rendevous, Doug, and Crows Nest. Had alot of fun on that boat--alot of fun.

Still here still have the boat. Bought an 80 acre farm @ the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and have been spending most of my weekends there.
Haven't burned 100 gallons of fuel in Crows Nest this year.

Yeah that trip to Montauk from Annapolis was memorable- coming through Hell Gate as the tide was rushing out was neat. Stopped @ Charlies again on the way South and got beat to death running on the outside down to Cape May.
Really liked doing the shark tourneys with you guys out of Canyon Club as well. Good to see you guys are all still here. I remember Bob F well. Tell him I said hi.

Still have that Sitex fish finder somehwere that matches the divet in Johns skull. I have put 400 hrs on that boat over the years and most of it 350 rpms off the pins doing some long distance trip with folks from this board.

Yes men we did some serious boat running and some serious drinking.
We had some great times fishing the South Jersey Shark Tourny. I do remember threatening one of the crew with an early morning swim if he did not shape up.

Swim ? You had a knife in your hands. I haven't heard from that guy in years- thanking god. Remember when he got drunk in Atlantic City (first Mid Atlantic Rendezvous) and was sleeping on the pile of lines I had thrown off the boat onto the dock and the bilge pump was cycling spraying him with Detroit bilge water all night. Classic-good times those.
