Does anyone have experience restoring hull id numbers on the older bertram 31 hulls where the number is glassed in under the vberth area, I am rebuilding mine and would like to bring up the visability better and then coat it with a sealer , it appears better when water is applied and then dissapears almost when dry.

would like to keep it as is the only one that was found and is original

Bet Capt Pat jumps in here, but I'd bet that the sealer would have the same effect as the water except permanent.

Wipe it clean with denatured alcohol, let it dry and rattle can on a couple of coats of clear enamel, such as Krylon gloss clear...

Capt Pat,
My only hull # I found was at the transom, a glassed over piece of paper, bad news all faded away..Id like to have another one reproduced any pics of a 66 vintage hull Id ? Thank you...BH
