My guages are reading 185 which I believe is at the upper range for my motors.

Using the temp gun I recorded 150 near the sensor which is very close to the thermostat housing. Also read the exhaust elbows which ranged from 95- 125.

Elbows are one season old and the water pumps are brand new, guages were changed last year as well----I guess I was expecting guage to read in lower #'s --maybe 165----

After the thermostats are opened put the RED dot of the laser on the brass housing of the sender, that temperature should be the same as your gauge to the helm.

If it is not then the sender is either bad or not for the gauge you have. You said you have new gauges are the sender correct.

It is possible you have a sender that is for dual stations which would give you a higher reading on you gauge.
