bonding strip

Post by coolair »

Just wondering, Do you think it is ok to run a new bonding strip over the old one, or is is better to cut the old one out first.
Thanks
Matt

Wouldn't hurt to overlay a new one over the old, so long as you don't try to splice into the old.

Matt...

I have the upgrade/replacement of my bonding system on my project list.. where did you get the strip material? I estimate I will need about 70'.

Matt and Mike...

Thanks both of you for your input!

Matt...

Do you recall what width and thickness you bought?

Sorry I bought this
COPPER STRAP 1 in. x .022 in. x 100 ft. Coil

on the building tips page and i think 26 gauge is .0159

"The primary strip should be copper at least 26 gauge in thickness and 1" in width."

Capt Pat, so if we lay to new bonding strip over the old, dont tie it into the old, so where an old loop is make a new lop on top of it?
Thanks
Matt
