Hi: My 1979 Fly Bridge Cruiser "Beach It" just won the Newport Harbor Yacht Club. Calif. 2010 Opening Day Inspection for Best Traditional Power Boat.

The Bertram 31 lives on!

Nice. She looks like she has been kept as original as possible. Very, very nice. What are those vents under the gunnel on the sides near the stern?

I remember some larger 1980's model bertrams with an exhaust set up like that. The "air" exhaust came out in one area and the "water" came out in another. I seem to remember a rectangular area like that but not sure.

Those slots look like the Velocijet exhaust that is used on the B33s.

It has huge mufflers, exhaust is out the vent, water out the transom, very quiet.

No matter how many of the refits and modernizations of the 31 I've done, I still love the traditional original look the best.

I guess it comes from actual boating during those days.
