Ok
I know this has been talked about, but i cant seem to find the answer i am looking for
my original thought was use a 1" solid SS bar, thread it to 3/4" npt. BUT
the OD of a 3/4" SS pipe is like 1.05 The 1" bar is 1.005 is that still thick enough to handle the threads or do i need to get a 1 1/8 bar and have it milled down and threaded. Also to save all the trouble would a 3/4" SS pipe work OK, or is the strength of the solid bar better?
just as a side though, aluminum solid bar strong enough??

Thanks

I picked up my pipe today and cut it to length. anyone needs some pipe i have oh 15 feet or so you can have! Once i get it threaded and weld the plate on I should be good, I just was unsure of using pipe or solid bar.
A 20ft piece was a bout 75 bucks. piece of scrap 1/4" plate and the new ball studs and bronze mounts and i should be good to go.
