7mm injectors on B-series "inserts"

Post by scenarioL113 »

I was wondering if anybody out there has an older B series with an old head.
I was wondering about the copper insert sleeve things that came in the overhaul kit.
I did a little research and am thinking that these somehow are used with the newer 7mm injectors in the older heads that had 9mm injectors.

I am not sure though and figured someone may have additional input on this subject.

This is what I am talking about, I have a these left over from my overhaul kit and did not use them. I am guessing cummins expects me to be using later style 7mm injectors. I have no idea which one I have to begin with but the CPL states my engines are from 1988.

not the engine what year are the heads .take serial numbers and cross referance with cummins parts at cummins dealer. that will determine what or what not to do with the injector nozzle retainer.
