update northeast rendevous greenport

Post by Charlie J »

today walter, brewster , ed boyd , and myself met with jeff from mitchells marina, we have dates set for aug 5 thru 8, the marina is very well maintained with floating docks, clean bathrooms and showers, there will be no rafting, and we will all be together, everything you would need is in walking distance, bars, reasturantes , antiqe shopping, and possibly wine tours, ed will have more info on that, looks like brewster is going to do all the catering plus put together a band for entertainment, again we will have more info on this at a later time,
to make rservations call the marina # 631 477 2200, if no answer leave a message and jeff will get back to you.
master card, and visa accepted
marina rates
mon thru thur $2.50 per ft
sat & sun $ 3.50 per ft
sun $ 3.00 ft
this rate includes electric for 1 30 amp connection, free cable, and wi fi
please try and make your reservation as early as possible we have a block of slipps reserved, if these slipps are not reserved toward the dates they will be taken from us.
i can be reached anytime on my cell #516 852 6766 if you have questions
www.greenportvillage.com
also brewster will be doing the t shirts
i will open another thread for boat listings
thanks
charlie johnson
brewster, walter, ed, if i left anything out please chime in

If you have a Sea Tow membership, when you show your card, you will get a 10% discount. I would suggest your advising them of that when making reservations. I think the place will make for a fantastic Rendezvous!

All the boats together, 75 steps to center of town, all facilities right there. Seems perfect in every way. The head of the dock and town superviser seemed very very happy to have us and make us welcome at their dock and in their town.

john
yes there are, unfortunatly the harbor house thats by the marina is booked due to a wedding, i told the recepionist that maybe both of them will come to there sences and cancel, i gave her my card if there are any cancelation, the greenport motel is across the street, and plenty of b&bs.
ed boyd might be able to help some more on this topic, also if you pull up the link to greenport it should have places to stay,
hope you and your better half can make it john.

THe family of one of my employees owns the Silver Sands Motel, not right there but not too far away. If rooms are hard to come by let me know and I will ask him to set some aside.

Hey guys,
I'm needing a big favor. Would you men please send Pam, my wife, some E mails asking her to make the trip? The thing is, she's tightened up the purse strings due to trying to put back togetherReel Cowboy. The more that ya'll can lay it on thick, the better. I wouldn't be asking, but I really want us to attend. I'll owe you one. Her mail adress is pam.cranston @yahoo.com
Thanks for the help, everyone.

John,

Might run the idea of a making it a dude weekend by Pam.

If she's not real interested in making the trip, could probably make it on the cheap (relatively speaking).

I know of four, from Shelter Island, Southold and Cutchogue, whose owners do not participate on this site - I will spread the word.

just throwing a idea out.that first week in august coincides with the large influx of fluke . within sight of green port is the greenlawn area of shelter island about 60' of water .brewster`s first though of tuna canyon fishing may not be in the scope of many of us with family children and wifes aboard but a little fluke derby less then a mile from the dock is within reason(excluding jp`s son) that is like competing againt brewster in a tuna tournament.anyways this is food for thought and not much in the way of fishing equipment . some of the boat will pool talent with four anglers on a boat.

This is a tough one
drinking weekend with friends
or
fishing for a share of 1.0 million in WMO

I'll have to see how my pocket book looks in July.

How far is the Square from Montauk?

And if they don't arrest the out-of-staters for not having a NY State non-resident's fishing license which they probably won't be able to buy in Greenport on a Saturday.

your on randall i have every color teaser and lure under the sun we do real well on fluke i just worry about jp`s kid pulling off some fancy livelining with squid .you should have seen this kid liveline a keeper bass under a docked boat at port judith -amassing

No problem Charlie. All we have to do is make first landfall in CT, buy a gallon of fuel, and keep the receipt. Then we'll be legal.

normallly that is about the week the squid migration enters those waters from the east .and the fluke just about ambush them at the deep waters adjacent to the harbor. strip of squid with a green or pink teaser 8" up usually gets the big guys sometimes whole squid with teaser.
