Can I get a translation? Will my Loran unit receive signals this year? No redundancy if GPS goes off?

Well my back up to GPS is now NO more. I think this was a mistake to do away with. I still have some more bottom sites in loran that I need to convert. Oh well!

And I thought the GPS satellites were aging with no sure replacements in sight!! Wow, I may have to dust off the charts and swing the compass!!

No more Loran C, and a catastophic satelite failure would be devastating...to say the least.

Harv, in the old days we used a watch and a compass.
Does anyone remember 3 way fixes?
Everyone will have to reread their Chapman's book.

I still have charts and navigation equipment on the boat. Guess I will need to swing the compass this spring just in case!!
