Michael makes a beautiful boat, visit his shop every time I am in Florida.

Last summer was on a sea trial for one of his smaller boats - I think it was a 33-called the Buddy Boy---think it is also on yachtworld now Twilight Affair.

Pretty boat, but I don't want to be the one holding the paintbrush or the checkbook for the wood maintenance.

beautiful components , fine craftsmanship, but i dont find it "beautiful" at all. kinda clunky.

Randall, if you take away the wood wraparound window frame and the bow rail it looks pretty sharp. Not crazy about the waterline colors...the red and green make it look off at rest.

Gotta love the poles sitting on the V-berth...

Reminiscent of a Wheeler. Almost expect to see Papa on deck. It's a neat boat and attractive in a retro nostalgic fashion, but on her own I don't love the boat. A few items seem off balance or misplaced

The work that went into it is unquestionable, and I would cerainly take her if someone were giving her to me, but I don't love her looks on the whole.

take off the cabin roof and the tower and it would help a lot (in my opinion , obviously) they seem like after thoughts and not well integrated into the design at all. i admit my bias for clean looks. not that roofs and towers cant work anywhere.. they can.

This one looks a little sleeker than the other one. It's no 31 though. That pic of Zero Cavity in the Cockpit Shade thread is beautiful.

Okay take off the wood windshield frame, the bow rail, the roof and the tower...now she's looking good!

Randall, I think your right about the roof. Seems like alot going on in what should be a simple design.

Although, I like the night shot with the lights in the roof.

JR- that is what a Rybovich should look like- very, very nice. Rook just seems to be an amalgam of styles, part classic Florida fisherman with a bit of New York style Commuter boat tacked on. The lines of the resultant mish mosh just doesn't flow gracefully, IMO.

that is much better but still suffers from the same visual flaw that almost all expresses suffer. you design a boat and then after its built you add another piece to the puzzle that wasn't even considered in the original design. on the other hand there was a bare express at the dock in montauk unsold for a few months......and it looked absolutely ridiculous.

A Bahia Mar is an express that looks great with a tower, but can "stand on it's own" with just a bimini.
