Post by Jeremy »

Can anybody tell me what the make and model is of this boat? I spoke with the owner and I believe he said its a 1988 Palm Beach 32ft., but I can't find any info on it. What are your thought's on the hull design...wet, dry, fast, slow, stable????

From a quick search, look like an Austrialian boat

It is the palm beach 30, the 32 is a little different. Pretty boats. Composite construction nice boats but get a little hairy in a following sea. I think all the 30's were single engines.

Looks like an L&H built in West Palm, could be a Gamefish built in Stuart, Fl. Both boats are modified V bottoms, great sailfish raisers. Need better pictures to really identify it.

He did say, he picked it up in St. Augustine. So maybe it was built on the east coast. They had to cut the tower off to transport it and I think it only had a single. It's a sweet ride!!!

A guy in Venice, La. had a Palm Beach 30 with a single 300 Cummins 6BTA and it was fast in smooth water but would beat the crap outta you in any chop at all....flat bottom aft. But real pretty.

He said it was an 1988? Were they making Palm Beach back in 88? I can't find anything older than 5-6 yrs. Just trying to see how this boat stacks up to the 31 Berts and who better ask then you guys.

Only logical comparison could be with a Bahia Mar.

They made them back in 88 but i think state side then. They later moved them to Costa Rica. The bertram is a lot better ride! the Palm beach is a great custom day boat and raise fish all day long. But, too flat of a back and just can't handle any kind of weather.

I think Mike Matlack president of Gamefisherman has a lot to do with this company. I think some of the Gamefisherman were built in Costa Rica--the cold molded ones--and the fiberglass ones were built in Stuart Fl.

Mike was also associated with Rybovich and Stuart Angler boats.

I have always admired the Gamefisherman, but they are pretty flat in the stern and probably not the best for long canyon runs.

Yes, thats the same boat, still has the same name. It's a really sweet ride. I noticed how flat the bottom was while it was on the boat lift earlier today. Probably not real fast with a single on a 32fter, but its gotta be stable.
