Randall,
Interesting motor sailer.

Do you know if it has been sailed and how it did?

no sail bruce. i think it has a single yanmar. its a pseudo downeast work boat with all the options....crows nest, pulpit. boom, skiff on the cabin roof etc. that boat will never see a day of work....thats for sure.

Great shots ! That 54 has been in three mile for a long time ...and yes it is quite nice. That 31 is pretty nice too, I think it wintered in Sag Harbor yacht yard.
Woke up this AM to SERIOUS wind .....a buddy in Block confirmed that it is howling out there, but he's in a 33 sportfish and was happy to point out that it's Bertram weather.
Happy holiday folks !!

The sail is to hold it from rocking when they are working on deck. Not that Billy Joel used it for work.

A Stay sail.

thats the theory....but this boat has no sails in its inventory. the main function of the crows nest was for the kids to dive off of when they were younger. it is kinda fun to climb the ratlines and go arrrr matey! i'm not sure the skiff has ever been off the cabin roof. he has a beautiful all wood day sailer also.

OK in the picture it looks like a sail hanging from the mast. ill run over there and check on that....but if it had a useful sail it would, i think, be furlled on the boom.

Great shots. The sunset (or should I say close to sunset is perfect).

bruce....i stand corrected. yep...has a small trisail furled to the mast. that must be fairly new as i never saw that before. i wonder if they actually use it to run downwind. i'll shoot some shots of the sailboat soon .......its a beauty. theres a true north 38 in there also thats a gorgeous boat.
