Richard Kidd - Allied Richard Bertram

It has come to my attention, via two of our members, that Richard Kidd has quit Allied Richard Bertram under dubious conditions...
It seems that Kidd was selling Bertram 31 after market products, such as decks and fuel tanks, not through Allied Richard Bertram, but directly from his office at Allied Richard Bertram.
It seems that at least two of our members have ordered items from Kidd, been instructed to make their checks payable to Kidd and then have been stiffed by him.
I don't know if any other of you have orders pending through Kidd, where funds have been made payable directly to him, but if so, I suggest that you contact Allied Richard Bertram.

This was the first year in a long time Richard has missed the Mid-Atlantic Rendezvous. I sure would like to know what happened to him.

Allied Richard Bertram is now simply called Allied Marine.

I've known & done business with him for a LONG time. I'm pretty shocked.

Before lynching I would like Richard's side. Anyone in the Miami area want to do some detective work?

This is hard for me to believe. I ordered my 190 gal. tank for my B28 from him. He was great at getting the price I wanted to pay for the fibergalass tank and I paid the manufacturer directly. He was very helpful and I stopped by to talk with him before picking up the tank not too far from his shop. My wife and I enjoyed visiting with hm at Allied Richard Bertram before picking up the tank.
I'd like to hear his side too.

Hard to believe. Richard is a legend and one heck of a nice guy. I hope its all just a missunderstanding.

While I have met Richard and done business with him on occasion,
I agree, he is a heck of a nice guy and very well informed, however,
it did take him over a year to get me my new fiberglass fuel tank.

I bought all my cockpit floor and side panels and front window bra from Richard back in 1996 and everything was done in a very good orderly fashion and picked up by us in Miami. Very knowledgable person on the B31 as I first talk to Richard back in 1986 when I first bought my B31. A very nice and helpful and likeable guy. But the quote above speaks for itself, not by one but two people, lets hope he makes good on correcting it.
