Are wet exhaust manifold repairable?

I have one that has a crack on the top that was only seen when it was boiled out at the machine shop.

My intention is to throw it away but before I do I was wondering if anyone has successfully repaired one.

It is a B-series cummins 4 cylinder

My advise is to replace it......

Replace it, your engine is worth much more than 1 manifold. The manifold, riser or elbow is the wrong place to save a buck. If they leak they can send water into your cylinders....klunk.

I thought about it a little more.....make sure that it is indeed a crack and not just a surface defect in the casting.

It will not hurt anything to grind a little and see if the "Crack" goes away. In other castings I have seen surface defects that may look like a crack...but were not.....you can also Dye Pen test it....a lot of welding shops and machine shops have the dye pen test kit.....not expensive at all to have it Dye checked
